제목 Diaminosilane-grafted silica for CO2 capture
초록 Amine-functionalized silica adsorbents, which are organic-inorganic hybrids, have emerged as advantaged candidate materials for post-combustion CO2 capture due to their high CO2 capacity and selectivity. The studies conducted employing various amines usually focus on the increasing number of nitrogen atoms (mono-, di-, tri-amines) and the increasing order of substitution of the nitrogen atoms (primary, secondary, tertiary amines). In addition, generally, the adsorbents for CO2 capture are evaluated in terms of their capacity to adsorb CO2 and capability to be regenerated in multiple adsorption/desorption cycles. Unfortunately, these adsorbents require a relatively high temperature for desorption, where significant deactivation of amines via urea formation takes place. In this work, the overall performance of amine-functionalized silica sorbents prepared by chemical incorporation of aliphatic diaminosilanes with varying distance of nitrogen atoms was evaluated. The effect of varying distance was assessed in terms of resistance to urea formation. The characterization and assessment were completed by TGA and FT-IR.
