Synthesis and Characterization of monodispersed polyaniline/polystyrene sulfonate using dialysis membrane |

Monodispersed nanoparticles of polyaniline/poly (4-styrene sulfonate) (PANi/PSS) were successfully synthesized by aqueous chemical oxidation polymerization using dialysis membrane with pores of microporous. Dialysis membrane was utilized as a key to control the diffusion speed of initiator. Comparing to analogous PANi/PSS, the resulting PANi/PSS shows relatively high crystallinity on the X-ray diffraction analysis. Polydispersity indices (PDIs) of the synthesized PANi/PSS appear in the range of 1.6 to 2.0 as a function of reaction time. The optical and electrical properties are investigated using UV-vis-NIR spectrometer and four-point probe analyzer. The electrical conductivities of monodisperse PANi/PSS are gradually enhanced with the increase of reaction time. |
