Biodegradable polymer brushes for Co-Cr surface modification to prevent the delamination from drug-eluting stent |
초록 |
In this study, a combination of initiated chemical vapor deposition (iCVD) and ring opening polymerization (ROP) techniques were used to enhance the stability of the drug-in-polymer matrix onto cobalt chromium substrate (CC). The first step includes iCVD of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) to produce PHEMA as a hydroxyl terminal polymer. The second step includes the ROP of ε-caprolactone (ε-CL) to produce a biodegradable PCL brushes. The PHEMA and PHEMA grafted PCL onto CC were successfully confirmed by ATR-FTIR, static water contact angle, SEM, and XPS. The topography as well as the roughness of the surface was evaluated by AFM. An ultrasonic spray technique was used to coat the unmodified and modified CC with a drug-in-polymer matrix (PDLLA+sirolimus). Sirolimus release behavior was tested under physiological conditions for 8 weeks using HPLC. The results of the drug release showed a stabilized PDLLA coating on the CC-PHEMA-PCL samples as compared to the CC control sample. |
