제목 | Synthesis and Properties of Inorganic-Organic Block Copolymers for Nanocomposites and Nanoporous Low-Dielectric Materials |
초록 | Poly(silsesquioxanes) (PSSQs) showed very promising results in preparation of nanocomposites and low-dielectric films. In order to further improve the properties of the PSSQ based materials, the preparation of nanohybrid and nanoporous systems should be developed. For this purpose, we synthesized hybrid inorganic-organic block copolymers. To develop synthetic ways obtaining inorganic-organic hybrid block copolymers, two approaches can be implemented: grafting from the inorganic block and grafting onto the inorganic block. In the first method, in order to employ the atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) method to polymerize the organic polymer block, a useful initiator group (2-Bromo-propionic acid 5-(chloro-dimethyl-silanyl)-pentyl ester) was successfully attached onto a PMSSQ prepolymer. This initiator could then be used to polymerize MMA under ATRP conditions to obtain a hybrid block copolymer. The second approach was to graft a precursor organic polymer (end-functionalized PMMA) onto a PMSSQ prepolymer. The synthesized hybrid block copolymers were investigated by DSC, TGA and DMA to study the thermal and mechanical behavior. Furthermore, nanocomposite formation in PMMA films and nanopore formation in PSSQ matrix was studied, and the relevant mechanical and electrical properties were characterized. |
