Pyrrolidinium-Based Ionic Polyesters |

A series of polyesters containing pyrrolidinium cation units on a backbone were successfully synthesized from bis–(N-hydroxyalkyl)pyrrolidinium ionic liquid monomer (1.00 equiv.) and sebacoyl chloride (1.00 equiv.). The pyrrolidinium monomers are mostly room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs). In the new ionic polymers, the pyrrolidinium ionic units were confirmed by 1H NMR. Tf2N polyesters are mostly high-viscous materials, but PF6 polymers are gum-like hard materials. Thermal stabilities of the synthesized polyesters were confirmed by TGA and the pyrrolidinium polyesters are mostly stable up to 300 oC. |
