Automobiles manufactured by automakers and used by consumers until the end of their useful life are referred to as end-of-life vehicles. At present, approximately 75% to 80% of end-of-life vehicles in terms of weight, mostly metallic fraction, both ferrous and non ferrous, is being recycled. However, the remaining 20% to 25% in weight, consisting mainly of heterogeneous mix of materials such as resins, plastics, rubber, glass, textile, etc., is still being discarded. Above all the rest, interior parts of automotive are mainly formed with plastics, textile and rubber. Instrument panel (I/P), large interior parts, was made various plastic materials and multi-layer. In this study, we tested mechanical and thermal properties which the virgin materials between aging materials with aging temperature and time. The experiment results showed that mechanical properties of mixed materials decreased thermal properties no changed with increasing virgin materials. |
