Morphology and Properties of High Density Polyethylene/SiO2 Nanocomposites via Sol-Gel Process |
초록 |
Organic-inorganic hybrids via sol-gel process are generally nano-size or molecular level mixtures. As a result, its hybrid has good surface adhesion and fine morphology. In this study, polyethylene(PE)/SiO2 hybrids were prepared via sol-gel process and high density polyethylene(HDPE)/SiO2 composites were prepared by melt blending. The effects of compositional variation and the amounts of the hybrids in the composites on the morphology, surface energy, thermal stabilities, and mechanical behavior were investigated. PE/SiO2 hybrids were prepared by reacting maleic anhydride(MAH) in the MAH-grafted PE and amino group in the SiO2 based on tetraethoxysilane and 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane. Imide group formed by the reaction of them. Hybridized SiO2 particles in HDPE/SiO2 composites appeared to be uniform and nano level in size. Increasing of the amount of hybridized SiO2 led to increasing of tensile stregth, thermal stabilities and surface energy in HDPE/SiO2 nanocomposites. |
