제목 Preparation, characterization and performances of Thermoplastic Starch/ Poly(butylene succinate) Biocomposites
초록 Poly(butylene succinate) (PBS) and thermoplastic starch (TPS) are two of the most promising bio-based materials currently available on the market. The expected rise in the cost of petroleumbased commodities in the next decades opens bright perspective for these materials. Their biodegradability and compostability can also be an asset in applications that are difficult to recycle. PBS production is derived from renewable resources and has therefore gained attention as an alternative to conventional synthetic polymers. Thermoplastic starch (TPS) were prepared with various content of plasticizers and were investigated in terms of the effect of the plasticizers addition on characteristics of starch and its blends. PBS and TPS with various ratios of water/plasticizers were melt-blended by using twin counter-rotating internal mixer. The blends were characterized by thermal analysis, mechanical test, FTIR spectroscopy and morphological analysis.
