제목 | Surface charge effect of cellulose nanomaterial on oil encapsulation |
초록 | Cellulose nanomaterials (CNMs) are a rod-shape of particles with amphiphilic properties. It is considered that the specificity of crystal structure results in the surface amphiphilicity of CNMs. The surface charge of CNMs was introduced by hydrolysis of cellulose pulps with sulfuric acid. In this study, CNMs with a different surface charge were prepared by hydrolysis and post-treatment and the formation of Pickering emulsion according to the CNM surface charge was investigated. Four hydrocarbon oils with a different surface energy were chosen for the emulsification. Phase separation behavior, droplet size, and surface energy change were characterized with the fabricated Pickering emulsion. CNMs with low surface charge showed the high stability fordecane and CNM with high surface charge also showed the same effect for hexadecane. * This work was supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) grant funded by the Korea government (MSIT) (NRF-2020R1A4A1018017). |
