제목 Configurational Entropy Model of the Glass Transition Behavior for Miscible Polymer Blends
초록 A new molecular thermodynamic model is developed of the glass transition temperatures (Tg) of miscible binary polymer blends based on the configurational entropy model and the Flory-Huggins theory. Four kinds of configurational entropy are taken into account by this model; the disorientation entropies of polymer 1 and polymer 2, the mixing entropy and specific hydrogen bonding interaction entropy between two polymers. The validity of the mathematical model was examined against two cases of miscible polymer mixtures; 1) the polymer mixtures interacting with strong specific forces, exhibiting the maximum Tg behavior with positive deviation and 2) those obeying Fox equation with linear relationship against blend composition. The agreement between experimental and predicted Tg is satisfactory.
