제목 Iodine-rich compounds of pyazole-based structure
초록 Agent Defeat Wapons (ADWs) has been developed to minimize collateral damage occurred from chemical and biological weapons by deactivating biological agents with hydroiodic acid (HI) and iodine (I2). For this reason, iodine-rich compounds, such as 3,4,5-triiodopyrazole and Tris(3,4,5-triiodopyrazolyl)-2,4,6-triazine, have been designed as ADWs candidates. Among the previously designed ADWs candidates, pyrazole derivatives have been interesting to us not only because of the simple structure of pyrazole, but also because of its high stability and strong detonation property toward biocides.
In this study, two bis-pyrazole compounds, bis(2,4,5-triiodo-1H-imidazol-1-yl)methane and bis(2,4,5-triiodo-1H-imidazol-1-yl)ethane, have been synthesized from 3,4,5-triiodopyrazole in 56% and 55%, resepectively, via the simple coupling reaction with diiodomethane or dibromoethane. The synthesized compounds are expected as more powerful ADWs candidates based on its increased iodine contents and symmetricity. Moreover, the symmetrical stable polyiodo-pyrazoles could be utilized as the key intermediates for high energy materials via further deiodonitration.
