Carbon quantum dots(CQDs) have received great interest in biomedical applications that enable bioimaging, diagnostics, single molecule probes, and drug delivery. We prepared CQDs by hydrothermal synthesis using ctric acid and ethylenediamine. Morphological characteristics of CQDs were studied by employing Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM). Functional groups of CQDs were investigated using Fourier-transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy. Optical and fluorescence emission properties of CQDs were studied by UV-Vis Spectrophotometer(UV-vis) and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy(PL), respectively. The structure of CQDs was studied using X-ray diffraction(XRD). |
