제목 Ordering of Functional Molecules on the Chiral Self-Assembled Monolayer
초록 The crystallization and liquid crystallization of small molecules or polymers on the chiral surface were studied.The surfaces of the silica-based substrates were functionalized with a chiral molecular layer by immersing the substrates into the toluene solutions of 1,1-binaphtyl derivatives containing surface-reactive groups.Firstly, a helical polymer LC was filled into the gap between two chiral silica surfaces.The effect of surface chirality on the liquid crystalline phases was investigated using the polarized optical microscope and the CD spectropolarimeter.Semi-conducting organic crystals were chosen as another system to study the surface-induced ordering.Pentacene was thermally evaporated onto the chiral silica surface.Atomic force microscope was used to investigate the morphology of the chiral self-assembled monolayer and the semi-conducting layers crystallized on the chiral monolayers.I-V characteristics of top-contact OTFT devices based on different chrial surfaces were studied.
