CaCO3 is one of the most abundant and important biominerals in natural environment. CaCO3 is a multipurpose mineral with several applications including organic/inorganic hybrid materials, medicine and catalysis. Many additives such as polymers, proteins, and peptides are studied for self-assembly of CaCO3 for various morphologies and applications. In this work, We study the effects of functionalized macromolecular additives which have the backbone of hyperbranched polymer and Jeffamine on mineralization process of CaCO3 by ex-situ and in situ combined with microfluidic device. Their functional groups affect to final morphology of CaCO3 and crystal growth kinetics. Their structures and properties have been fully characterized by means of various instrumental analysis techniques. And we also study the effect of various structural effects of macromolecular additives. Finally, we have a plan to develop control of their various crystal phase and growth rate in the presence of functional macromolecular modifiers. |
