Red inorganic pigments based on Cd have been attracting attention because of their excellent color fastness. However, since inorganic pigments based Cd are toxic, researchers currently have conducted pigment research into a non-toxic substance such as iron oxide. Iron oxide is a substance frequently used as a pigment in various fields such as coloring tiles, roofs and paint because of harmless to human and environment. However, in spite of the merits, the iron oxide pigments have a poor coloring power and ability. Further, since the organic coating agent contains an organic substance as a binder for painting the inorganic pigment to surface of solid material, deterioration due to ultraviolet rays occurs outdoors and there is a problem such as discoloration. The purpose of this study is to improve the color characteristics and water repellency of metal-substituted iron oxide based coatings using inorganic silica-graphene nanosols. It is also investigated its mechanical properties. |
