제목 | fluorescent and biocompatible carbon quantum dots from lysine through microwave-assisted synthesis |
초록 | Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) have considerable attentions to their great characteristic such as chemical inertness, great optoelectrical performance and low cytotoxicity. Lysine-based CQDs is more biocompatible compared with other CQDs because lysine is a kind of essential amino acid. Lysine is used to synthesize a strong emitting CQD with excellent solubility in various solvents. The formation of lysine-based CQDs was attempted by bottom-up approach through microwave reaction using a household microwave oven, which has considerable advantages compared with typical hydrothermal reaction in the consideration of scalability and productivity. Lysine-based CQDs showed blue-emission at 431 nm (excitation : 360 nm) with the quantum yield (QY) of 23.3 %. Due to the absence of heavy metals and the use of naturally abundant lysine as a monomer, lysine-based CQDs accomplished low cytotoxicity and easy bioimaging ability toward various types of cells. 2016년 한국교통대학교 지원을 받아 수행하였음. |
