제목 pH-Responsive Catechol-Fe3+ Cross-Linked Polymer Micelles for Tumor Therapy
초록 Polymer micelles (PMs) have been extensively explored as intravenous nanocarriers. However, they have poor stability in systemic blood circulation, which leads to micelle dissociation and premature drug release before reaching the target cell. To overcome these problems, core or shell cross-linking techniques have been introduced. Recent reports suggested that coordination bond between Fe3+ and catechol ligand is as strong as covalent bonds and has pH-sensitive association/dissociation property. As pH increases from 5 to 12, the complex of catechol-Fe3+ changes from mono-complex to tris-complex. We have developed pH-tunable polymer micelles (CLPMs) of PEG-b-poly(L-3,4-dihydroxy phenylalanine) (PEG-PDOPA) copolymer, in which the PDOPA core was cross-linked by Fe3+. This CLPM can hold the drug at physiological pH and can release the drug in acidic condition.
