In recent years, many photorefractive polymers have been developed to probe several mechanisms in holographic applications. An organic photorefractive material is advantageous due to its high dynamic range, but may be influenced by many factors such as a phase separation and response-time. In this work, we present a new charge-transporting polymer backbone which is based on polysiloxane with pendant hole-transporting (HT) groups and which provides both transport and room temperature poling properties without plasticizing components. The performance of the polysiloxane-HT based sample did not deteriorate for a few months, while the poly(9-vinylcarbazole) based sample usually crystallized within a week. |
