The monomer reactivity ratio in copolymerization of 2-pyrrolidone and ε-caprolactam |

In this study, the monomer reactivity ratio was investigated through the copolymerization of 2-pyrrolidone and ε-caprolactam. The pyrrolidone has the ceiling temperature at 80℃. And its reactivity is expected to change drastically in the temperature higher than the ceiling temperature. The reactivity ratio was obtained by Finemann-Ross and Kelen-Tudos equation. Experiment was performed in the temperature range of 60~90℃. 2-Pyrrolidone with ε-caprolactam copolymer was synthesized by anionic ring-opening polymerization and the mole fraction in the copolymer was obtained by H-NMR. The potassium tert-butoxide was used as an initiator and the N-acetylcaprolactam was used as the activation reagent. |
