제목 Characterization of peripheral nerve conduits for nerve regeneration
초록 In peripheral nerve regeneration, the standard method is by using autologous nerve grafts in bridging peripheral nerve defects. However, this technique has unavoidable disadvantages, such as the limited availability and donor-site morbidity of autografts. Accordingly, many synthetic materials have been developed. We are used methoxy-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(ε-caprolactone-co-L-lactide) (MPEG-PCLA) and SIS conduit as a guide to promote nerve regeneration. MPEG-PCLA conduit was manufactured by using Solid Free Form fabrication. It provides a good environment for nerve regeneration because of its flexibility, biodegradability and biocompatibility. Small intestine submucosa (SIS) conduit was used in comparison with synthetic conduit in peripheral nerve regeneration. In conclusion, we confirmed that the nerve regeneration induced by MPEG-PCLA and SIS nerve conduit suggest that they are highly promising candidates in the treatment of peripheral nerve defect.
