제목 | Reactive Oxygen Species-producible Nanoparticles for Endosomal Escape of Drug upon Light Irradiation |
초록 | The photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photochemical internalization (PCI) strategy have been employed in medical fields. The PCI is strategy that leads to endosomal destruction and drug release through reactive oxygen species (ROS). Although PCI improves the efficacy of therapeutic agent, PCI has limitation in localizing the encapsulated agents to the target site. To overcome this problem, we designed ROS producible nanoparticles (RPNs) that composed polysaccharide conjugated photosensitizer (PS) and ROS scavenger. The RPNs are internalized by tumor targeting ligands-tumor receptor interaction. Upon laser irradiation, PS generates ROS that trigger drug release as well as induce endosomal escape of drug into cytoplasm. This novel photo-mediated drug delivery system suggests enhanced drug delivery platform for the effective chemotherapy. |
