Study on hydrophilicity control by blending of poly(glycerol sebacate) and acrylic polymer |

Poly(glycerol sebacate) (PGS) is an elastomeric biodegradable polyester which is polycondensed with biodegradable with glycerol and sebacic acid. PGS exhibits biocompatibility and biodegradability, both highly relevant properties in biomedical application. Acrylic polymers with a low glass transition temperature are used as pressure sensitive adhesives in various application fields, such as electronics, automobiles, office automation, packing and daily necessities. The blend of PGS polymer and acrylic polymer improves adhesion of the polymer and can control the hydrophilicity. In this study, we study on hydrophilicity control by blending of poly(glycerol sebacate) and acrylic polymer. In order to improve miscibility with PGS polymer, we synthesized acrylic polymer with hydrophilic properties. Hydrophilic acrylic polymer was synthesized using free-radical polymerization. |
