Diketopyrrolopyrrole-based Copolymer Containing Tellurophene Moiety for use in Organic Thin Film Transistors |

Diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)-based conjugated copolymers have been investigated because of their extraordinary charge transport properties. For more enhancement of charge transport properties, one of the way is controlling donor moiety in the conjugated polymers. We introduced a novel tellurophene moiety which should be able to induce supramolecular interactions because of strong Te-Te interactions. Additionally, tellurophene has a narrow HOMO-LUMO band gap which should be red shifted compare to those of polythiophenes. Therefore we designed and synthesized a diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)-based donor-acceptor type conjugated polymer containing tellurophene. And we synthesized a known polymer which containing thiophene and DPP units for comparison. Thermal analysis, cyclic voltammetry and absorption spectroscopy were employed to compare their intrinsic properties. Eventually, we fabricated thin film transistors to study their p-type semiconducting properties. |
