제목 Fabrication of Dental Restorative containing Spiro Orthocarbonate
초록 The resin matrix contains 2,2-bis[4-(2-hydroxy-3-methacryloyxy propoxy) phenyl] propane (Bis-GMA) as a base resin and triethylene glycol dimethacylate (TEGDMA) as a diluent were often limited in dentistry due to the relatively amount of volumetric shrinkage that occurs during the curing. Spiro orthocarbonates (SOCs) have been widely investigated because they show significant volume expansion during polymerization. Importantly, the polymerization reaction did not occur with visible or ultraviolet light at room temperature. Second, dental composites containing SOC as their base resin exhibited poor mechanical strength. Finally, the extent of volumetric expansion of SOCs was not as great as expected because of various side reactions of the spirocyclic monomers that took place in lieu of the ring-opening reaction. In the study related to the resin matrix, monomers containing spiro groups, carbon double bonds, and bisphenol unit will be synthesized.
