제목 Olefin Carrier Stability against Acetylene in Facilitated Transport Membranes
초록 Facilitated olefin transport membranes based on Ag ions and metallic Ag nanoparticles (NPs) as an olefin carrier have been intensively investigated recently. It has been known that acetylene is present in many petrochemical feed stocks as an impurity and it may react with Ag ions to produce silver acetylide, a mechanically and thermally very sensitive compound. Therefore, the formation of silver acetylyde was checked by bubbling acetylene gas through aqueous AgNO3 solution. It was found that silver acetylide was immediately formed and precipitated. However, silver acetylide was not formed for surface-activated Ag NPs by electron acceptor such as 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ). Therefore, we concluded that surface-activated Ag NPs are more stable olefin carrier than Ag ions against acetylene.
