제목 Novel modification of SBA-15 for γ-valerolactone to levulinic acid
초록 Catalytic conversion of biomass is one of the very effective way for production of those fuels and chemicals. ν-Valerolactone (GVL), an environment friendly solvent and a basic compound for energy storage and transportation fuel, can be obtained by tandem reaction of hydrogenation and dehydration of levulinic acid (LA) using homogeneous and heterogeneous catalytic systems. However, due to the disadvantages of homogeneous catalyst, such as corrosion and poor stability to the reactor, it may be limited in commercial use. Therefore, heterogeneous catalyst has the advantages of reusability and easy separation of both reactants, products and catalysts. In our experiment, LA was used as a biomass-derived feedstock to prepare GVL by catalytic transfer hydrogenation (CTH) over phosphate zirconium oxide supported on SBA-15 which was prepared by impregnation method. The ZrO2 concentration affected to the catalytic activity and selectivity significant the conversion of reactants.
