Wire-shaped dye-sensitized solar cell (WDSSC) is attracting a lot of attention due to the lightweight, broad selectivity of the electrode materials, flexibility, and its paractical application. In order to improve the disadvantage of normal DSSC such as evaporation of the liquid electrolyte and limited plat form, WDSSC using polymer gel electrolyte of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and flexible metal wire are prepared. Number of TiO2 layer, thickness of the PVA gel electrolyte, and length of the Pt wire selected as variables affecting cell performance. The structure and performance of WDSSC are analyzed by SEM, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and solar simulator. The longer the length and the larger the diameter, the interface area of the counter electrode increases and thus the photovoltaic performance of the cell increases. The more thickness of the electrolyte and the number of the TiO2 layer, the performance of the cell increases. |
