Nanoscrolls made through rolling up the two-dimensional (2D) nanosheets have a unique structure and properties different from 2D nanosheets and 1D nanotubes. Nanoscrolls of Graphene and hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) with high yields and reproducibility are first synthesized to insert and draw out desired material inside by a simple solution process. Using LCAs, N-(2-aminoethyl)-3α-hydroxy-5β-cholan-24-amide, as a bile acid derivative and self-assembling material, the inner-tube diameter of nanoscrolls can be controlled by adjusting diameter of LCA fiber which is growing by self-assembly. TEM and SEM images show that the Graphene and h-BN nanoscrolls have a tube-like morphology with the various inner diameters of 2-12 nm and 20-60 nm, respectively, through fiber growth and inclusion of LCAs. Finally, the open cylindrical nanoscrolls with hollow core was obtained by solvent dissolution and thermal degradation of LCAs. |
