As the global warming becomes more serious, interest in hydrogen energy has been increased. Among the methods of producing hydrogen energy, water electrolysis released only the water harmless to the environment as a byproduct. However, water electrolysis in acidic conditions has a cost problem due to using precious metal catalysts. On the other hand, studies on non-noble metal catalysts have been conducted in alkaline condition. In recent years, studies on oxygen-vacancy in catalyst for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) report that oxygen-vacancy increase the intrinsic OER activity. In this study, oxygen-vacancy rich NiFe-based catalysts were prepared by electrodeposition. Their intrinsic OER activity was measured. Then through the XPS analysis, oxygen-vacancy ratio was monitored during the long-term OER activity test. |
