Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) has received attention as one of the most attractive conducting polymers in bioelectronics. Herein, we focused on the shape-dependent cytotoxicity and immune response in human lung fibroblast (IMR90) and mouse alveolar macrophage (J774A.1) cells. The toxicity of PEDOT nanomaterials was evaluated by cell morphological change, viability, apoptosis, oxidative stress and cytokine release. These results may open a pathway to understanding how to affect the geometrical parameter in cytotoxicity, and offer the evaluation of PEDOT nanomaterials for bioapplication. |
