Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) is a type of polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) that has attracted much industrial attention due to its good biodegradability, biocompatibility and thermoplasticity. Graphene Oxide is known as a material that has interesting electronic, thermal, and mechanical properties that are being explored for composites. In this study, we made biodegradable poly(hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate) composite films with graphene oxide to increase thermal stability and mechanical properties. Graphene oxide was synthesized by the modified Hummer’s method. The in vitro biodegradation of the composite films was checked for 60 days in a buffer solution. Weight losses of films, X-ray diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and some other tests were employed to monitor the degradability of composites. And other mechanical properties were also investigated by TG analysis, universal testing machine and so on. |
