Corneal endothelium (CE) is a hexagonal, single layer. As it is very important to maintain clarity, massive loss of CE leads to blindness, finally. Only treatment is a transplantation. However, there is a major problem, which is limitation of donor number. To overcome it, the in vitro trial on proper scaffolds becomes promising method. So, silk is choosen to reconstruct CE because silk is an attractive biomaterial since silk has been used as a suture. In this study, silk derived fibroin film was fabricated to apply for CE. To improve a surface energy of silk fibroin film, fabricated film was emerged in H2SO4, NaOH, cholic acid, chloric acid. To characterize, SEM, contact angle were carried out. Transparency, permeability, and mechanical property were conducted, also. We confirmed that improvement of silk fibroin film is more effective as a substratum for CE.
