제목 Emulsion-templated fabrication of colloidal photonic crystal for tunable structural color
초록 Here, we fabricated 3D-type colloidal photonic crystal(CPC) particle svia emulsion-templated microfluidic system. CPC particles were crystallized by osmotic annealing pressure, subsequently middle oil shell was removed to crystallize CPC again. Then, water molecules start to diffuse out as colloidal particles in shell part of CPC were packed compactly. When the thickness of shell part increased, water molecules cannot diffuse out anymore and core-shell structure is formed. Therefore the core-shell structure cause difference of interparticle distance and refractive index which enable CPC particles show dual structural color. Large CPC particles show green and blue structural color but small CPC particles show only blue color depending on their core part. Finally, we confirm that CPC particles can retain its stability owing to PVP molecules adsorbed on surface of colloidal particles. We expect that this non-shell photonic structure can be utilized in optical materials.
