Mussel-Inspired surface chemistry as a new platform for Nitric-Oxide delivery |
초록 |
Nowadays, implant-associated bacterial infection is a potentially serious complication, which leads to the premature implant removal. Although a lot of localized antibacterial agents have been applied to prevent bacterial adhesion/proliferation, the use of antibiotics presents a question about the risk of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Recently, nitric oxide has been highlighted due to their broad-spectrum antibacterial properties against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Therefore, nitric oxide (NO) releasing Sol-Gel coating method is being developed as a platform for antibacterial coating. Herein, we proposed some new NO releasing coating technique inspired by mussel, which has smoother surface, thinner thickness, and larger amounts of NO than NO-releasing Sol-Gel method. |
