Paclitaxel, an anticancer agent extracted from the bark of the Pacific yew (Taxus brevifolia), has demonstratedsignificant activity in clinical trials against a variety of tumors one of the major clinical problems of using paclitaxel is its very low solubility in water, due to its extremely hydrophobic nature. The Transferrin-PEG-Paclitaxel(TFPXPEG)weresynthesized by coupling reaction of PEG-Paclitaxel (PXPEG) and Transferrin for Target Moiety drug delivery system. The structure was investigated by Fourier transform infrared, and ¹H Nuclear magnetic resonance, Solubillity measurement by Ultraviolet visible, Particle formation was confirmed byTransmission electron microscopy, Electrophoretic LS spectrophotometer.TFPXPEG maintain the pharmacologicalactivity of paclitaxel and efficiently deliver it to the cells.The TFPXPEGhave excellentpotential as apolymeric drug carrier of cancer therapy agent. |
