Purification of Poly(Vinyl Alcohol) and a Quantification of Sodium Acetate in PVA by using NMR Spectroscopy |
| 초록 |
Sodium acetate, a major impurity in poly(vinyl alcohol) polymer remains after its preparation by base catalyzed hydrolysis of poly(vinyl acetate). In order to establish the optimal condition for sodium acetate removal, several factors such as solvent, washing time, and temperature were investigated. NMR(nuclear magnetic resonance) spectroscopy was successfully applied to determine the residual amounts of sodium acetate in washed poly(vinyl alcohol). |
