Facile Synthesis of Redox-Sensitive Block Copolymer |

Redox-sensitive polymers which can be cleaved in the cytosol of the cell have been used as the carrier for drug delivery. In this study we have found a facile synthetic route of PEG-S-S-P(amino acid) diblock copolymers bearing the glutathione-sensitive linkage. The polymers were synthesized via a ring opening polymerization of NCA monomer in the presence of a novel PEG-based initiator. The resulting polymers may possess the ability to release the drug in the intracellular environment. The copolymers were characterized using various instruments such as 1H NMR, gel permeation chromatography, and dynamic light scattering. |
