Preparation and Characterization of Nanoparticles based on Block Copolymer Conjugated Anticancer Drug |

Using poly(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) as a block copolymer, we have synthesized methotrexate (MTX)-conjugated nanoparticles. Chemical composition of MTX-conjugated PLGA was confirmed with 1H-NMR, indicating that MTX has intrinsic peaks around 7 ppm while PLGA showed specific peaks around 3 ppm. MTX-PLGA nanoparticles were prepared by one step without use of surfactant by nanoprecipitation and dialysis method. Morphological observation with TEM showed spherical shapes with unimodal particle size distribution. |
