Poly(γ-glutamic acid)(γ-PGA) is widely used for tissue engineering scaffold because of their biocompatibility, biodegradability and non-toxicity. As a processing method of this materials, we have been used electrospinning technique which is simply used to fabricate ultra fine fibers from a polymer solution. This method is very simple process, low cost and a particularly useful method for preparation of biomimetic scaffolds. In this study, we optimized conditions to fabricate nano-sized fibrous mats by electrospinning from γ-PGA for biomimetic scaffolds. Electrospun fibers was coated chitosan in chitosan solution for 2 hours. Chitosan coated γ-PGA nanofibrous mat characterized by SEM, image analysis and biodegradation analysis. We investigated human adult fibroblasts’ behavior on this nanofibrous mats and characterized by SEM and MTT assay. |
