Interests in functional composite particles with tailored structure and morphology has increased rapidly in liquid crystal display industries. In particular, for fine-pitch anisotropic conductive films, conductive balls with outer insulating layer have recently becoming very important and various techniques to manufacture this kind of composites has been studied. For outer insulating materials, we synthesized various organic spherical particles with uniform particle size. We attempted to fabricate such insulating conductive balls using mechano-chemical bonding process, which is considered as one of commercially viable dry particle coating techniques and investigated the effects of processing parameters including processing time and rotation speed on the morphologies of resulting composite particles via SEM. |
