In steam reforming of methane (SRM), nickel-based catalysts are mainly used due to its high activity and relatively low cost. However, the catalysts have difficulties to operate for long period time because of the deactivation processes such as metal sintering and coke formation. For an efficient SRM process, the design of Ni-based catalyst with high activity and stability is required. This work has focused on bimetallic Ni-Co catalysts supported on MgAl2O4. In the modified catalyst, strong metal support interaction (SMSI) effect was identified, and the catalyst showed high sinter-stability as well as excellent resistivity for coke formation. |
