제목 Fabrication of Optically Anisotropic Film Using Magnetic Particles
초록 Magnetic particles have been utilized in various applications such as magnetic recording tapes, printing inks, magnetorheological fluids. Recently their new applications to biological and optical systems have drawn much attention. The present study is concerned with fabrication of optically anisotropic film using magnetic particles. First we examine microstructure and macroscopic properties of magnetic dispersion consisting of magnetic particles and polymeric liquid. Rheological behavior of the magnetic dispersion is investigated for evaluating dispersion state and coatability. The magnetic dispersion is then coated on a substrate to form a thin solid film. The magnetic film shows microscopically ordered structure when magnetic field is applied in the coating process. This ordered structure is shown to give anisotropy of the film.
