Stricter regulations have been enacted to reduce the sulfur content in fuels in order to prevent air pollution from SOx and catalysts deactivation. So far, hydrodesulfurization has been mainly used for sulfur removal of commercial fuels. Adsorption has been investigated as one of alternative and efficient techniques for sulfur removal, especially for ultralow sulfur content. In this presentation, the adsorptive desulfurization of model liquid fuels by using metal−organic frameworks (MOFs) will be discussed. Especially, effect of central metal ions of analogous MOFs and some modifications to improve the adsorptive performances will be presented. |
