Electroconductive hydrogels are 3-dimensional continuous conducting materials and they are composed by hydrogels and conductive materials. It can be applied to electro-stimulated biomaterials for electro-stimulated systems like biosensors, neural prosthesis and electro-stimulated drug delivery system. In this study, alkyne-functionalized poly(vinyl alcohol) based hydrogel film was deposited on ITO-coated glass electrodes by electro-controlled alkyne–azide cycloaddition, generating Cu(I) catalyst by applying reduction potential of Cu(II) ions. Incorporated carbon nanotubes made the electrical properties of hydrogel improved, so that the electrochemical active area got larger than that of hydrogel without CNTs. The synthesized films were characterized by surface profilometry, UV-vis spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. The electroconduictive hydrogel films were applied to electro-controlled drug delivery system at different pH changing the charge state of drugs |
