A series of copoly(ether ester) thermoplastic elastomers were synthesized from dimethyl-2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylate (NDC) as the hard segment and poly(tetramethylene ether glycol) with molecular weight (MW) (PTMEG MW=1000), as the soft segments. For tuning the mechanical properties of the copoly(ether ester) elastomers two new chain extenders 4,8-bis(hydroxy methyl)tricyclodecane (TCDO) and hydroquinone bis hydroxyl ethtyl ether (HBHEE) were incorporated in NDC unit by the transesterification followed by polycondensation. The compositions of the TCDO and HBHEE varied from 10% to 30% relative to 1,4-butanediol (BDO). The influence of chain extenders in copoly(ether ester) elastomers were investigated. The structural confirmation was carried out by spectroscopies, thermal and mechanical properties, crystallinity , electrospinnability and honeycomb patternability of the elastomers were also investigated. |
