제목 Fabrication of Slica-Polythiophene Core-Shell Nanoparticles and Their Application to Electrorheological Fluids
초록 Polythiophene is one of the most interesting conducting polymers due to its remarkable electrical and optical properties. Herein we describe the facile fabrication of silica-polythiophene core-shell nanoparticles using a seeded polymerization. The silica nanoparticles with the diameter of 8, 12, and 22 nm were employed, and the ultrathin polythiophene layers (2-4 nm) were successfully coated on the silica nanoseed. Furthermore, the resulting core-shell nanoparticles were utilized as dispersed materials for electrorheological fluids. The rheological properties were explored as a function of shear rate and electric field frequency.
