제목 Synthesis of functionalized eco-friendly carbon dots for dual detection of dopamine and its bioimaging potentials in neuroblastoma cells
초록 Environmentally benign carbon dots (CDs) are demanding for their high biocompatibility and facile synthesis. CDs from natural sources such as bottle gourd (BCDs) lacked distinct functional moieties. Herein, we functionalized CDs using glutathione (GSH) and 4-mercaptophenylboronic acid (MPBA). These CDs (FBCDs) are sufficient for detecting neurotransmitter; dopamine (DA). BCDs and FBCDs showed blue emissions of 460 and 458 nm with excitation wavelengths around 360 and 351 nm. FBCDs delivered a detection limit of 2.14 μM towards DA in concentrations (0-25 μM). FBCDs showed a dual fluorescence sensing and bioimaging in neuroblastoma cells and aqueous solutions.
