Recently, glass beads were scattered on the road paint to increase visibility of lane for nighttime. But at rainy day, because light was reflected on the water surface, these glass beads can’t do their roles. So drivers can’t see lane. Phosphorescent phosphor (SrAl2O4: Eu2+,Dy3+) can be a candidate which can solve this problem. In this study, phosphorescent phosphor was encapsulated by suspension polymerization of methyl methacrylate. Before encapsulation, phosphorescent phosphor were treated with oleic acid (OA) or (3-acryloxypropyl)trimethoxy silane. Prepared PMMA microcapsules were analyzed with optical microscope (OM), confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), and thermo gravimetric analysis. Luminance intensities of the microcapsule-coated plates were also measured as a function of time. (Grant No. 15CTAP-C077604-02). |
