Flexible, Disposable, and Selective Sensors using ZnO Nanocomposite Barrier for Acid Leakage Detection |

This paper reports on disposable leakage sensors for the acidic solution based on the composite of ZnO nanoparticle(NP) and poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC). ZnO NP is quickly etched in acidic solutions and is useful for detecting acidic solutions. Therefore, the ZnO/PVC nanocomposites were coated on resistance-type sensors as a barrier. The sensors are manufactured on flexible polyethylene naphthalate(PEN) substrates and optimized the manufacturing process by changing the concentration of ZnO/PVC nanocomposites and coating conditions of the barrier film for high response speed, high sensitivity and selectivity. As a result, disposable acid solution leakage sensors using ZnO/PVC nanocomposite barrier films on flexible substrates have good properties. |
