제목 Preparation of reiforcements for polypropylene composites
초록 Reinforcements for polypropylene composites were prepared by carbonization of citric acid and tannic acid. The resultant filler materials had size distribution from few hundred nanometeres to several micrometers and it was possible to control the size below a micrometer by selection of appropriate filter membrane. The size controlled filler materials had planar morphology which was thought to have contributed to the enhancement of mechanical properties of polypropylene composites. The filler materials were then functionalized with cardanol, main component of CNSL, to increase the compatibility with polypropylene by esterification. The tensile and flexural test results evidently reveal that the incorporation of filler materials resulted in the strengthening of polypropylene.
